Tiny Troopers 2: Special Ops places the success of every mission on the tap of one finger. Players control a squad of small troopers throughout various mission types as they will survive oncoming waves of enemies, destroy enemy buildings and tanks, and ride on the back of a Humvee while unloading on numerous bad guys. Simple controls create a fun and rather entertaining environment. To move, players only need to tap on the area that they would like to go, while shooting enemies is just as easy as touching them. There are also grenades, rockets and airstrikes for players to call in by dragging those items to a select area that they would like to attack.

It’s nice to relax and move troops around with the easy control while working through the various missions. There are three operations with 7 missions each, along with an unlockable zombie map on each area of operation. The zombie maps are unlocked by earning enough bullets, based on the difficulty level on each mission. The game certainly isn’t easy, either. It provides players with a good challenge while they get past waves of enemy bullets, flamethrowers, grenades and dynamite. Also, players will swipe down on the screen to make their squad dive to the ground in situations where they get too close to a grenade or tank. Take cover!

While the game slowly becomes more difficult after each mission, players also earn cash and collect medals to upgrade their troops. Upgrades consist of weapon effectiveness, uniforms that increase troop potential, and even additional support by enlisting an extra trooper to join in on a mission with the specialty of grenades, rockets or airstrikes. It's always a good idea to bring along a helping hand.

Players earn money during missions by completing objectives, killing enemies, destroying objects, and collecting items. There is even a multiplier that increases the earning by up to 4 times the original amount. It’s especially useful when coming across intel or a nuclear weapon that is worth a lot of coin.

The troops cannot survive death, here, so players must take extra precaution with every move they make. Troops increase in rank as they level up, so it’s important to keep them around. However, even when players start over with a new unit, it doesn't matter much. I lost 29 guys throughout the 21 missions and didn't feel any negative effects from starting over with new squad members. Of course, I did make sure to purchase an upgrade for my troops so that they began at a higher rank.

Tiny Troopers 2: Special Ops is a lovely little game for players to make their way through. Be careful with how far away the target is when launching a rocket at it, though. I’ve lost many a good soldier because I blew up objects too close to my troops. Boom!
